ROMANCE OF THE SQUARE

Born in 1930, Mel Butor studied at Kent State Universi^iq, Kent, Ohio and at the Cleveland I nstitute of Art. He is currently an assist tant professor at the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Butor has had one-man shows at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, the Butler Midyear Show in Youngstown, Ohio, and the Mickelson Gallery in Washington, D.C. He has participated in numerous group shows. most recently at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, The Silvermine Guild’s 16th Annual New England Exhibition, the Corcoran Gallery Lending Library in Washington, D.C., and the Fort Worth Art Center in Texas.

Mr. Butor is represented in New York by the East Hampton Gallery.

David A. Welty was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1940. He took his B.f.A. in Graphics from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. Mr. Welty has subsequently done graduate work in design at the University off Kansas. Numerous works by David Welty have been exhibited in several national and regional shows throughout the country, and he is represented in many private collections.

Springbok Mini-Puzzle Secession Alexander S Gsoell 1970

SECESSION by Alexander S Gsoell – A Mini Springbok puzzle from 1970.

The artist, Alexander S. Gsoell was born in Vienna, Austria, and came to this country in the Fall of 1960. He was awarded scholarships from the University of Cincinnati and the Dayton Art institute. The Dayton, Ohio, Art Directors Club sponsored his schooling for one year. In 1968, Alexander Gsoell received a diploma from the Dayton Art Institute with a major in commercial art. Since then Mr. Gsoell has been with Hallmark Cards, Inc.
